Special Guest Announcement

The 2012 Calgary Anarchist Bookfair is proud to announce our special guest: Cristy C. Road!

Cristy C. Road is a Cuban-American artist and writer originally from Miami, Florida, but now based in New York City.

From her website:

"Cristy C. Road is floating in a pool of her own blood, sweat, and occasional tears. C. Road is a 30-year-old Cuban-American artist and writer. Blending social principles, sexual deviance, mental inadequacies, and social justice- she thrives to testify the beauty of the imperfect."

Over the last 10 years, Road's repertoire has grown to include independent publishing, magazine illustrations, album art, concert posters, lectures, workshops and political organizing.

CABF 2012 Has Confirmed Our Schedule

The 2012 Calgary Anarchist Bookfair has finalized it's schedule:

Meet & Greet (7pm-late) - Come by the Good Life Bike Shop (148 10 Street NW) to meet some rad people and have a good time. There will be music, films, board games and snacks.

Bookfair (10am-6pm) - The bookfair itself will be held at the Old Y Centre for Community Organizations (223 12 Avenue SW). Vegan-friendly food will be available by donation. A (growing) list of vendors will be announced shortly.

Workshops (12pm-6pm) - While you're at the bookfair, make sure to check out the series of workshops and skillshares being presented by comrades from both near and far. A full workshop schedule will be announced shortly.

People's Prom (8pm-12am) - What better way to spend your Saturday night than at the Good Life Bike Shop (148 10 Street NW) with pals, live music and dancing? And to sweeten the deal, the Peopl's Prom will also feature a commencement address from the bookfair's very special guest: Cristy C. Road! Stick around afterwards for the martypartyafterparty, a Kensington/Sunnyside legend.

Bookfair (10am-5pm) - The second day of the bookfair will again take place at the Old Y Centre (223 12 Avenue SW). More books, more 'zines, more merch and more vegan noms will be available.

Workshops (12pm-5pm) - Also, more workshops and skillshares!
